NGC 278

This is a relatively small face-on spiral at 1.9 by 1.8 arc-minutes.  Found in Cassiopeia, it is fairly bright at magnitude 10.9

This image is the combination of 24 one minute exposures taken with the 12" LX200 and 416XT CCD at f/10 at the 1999 Oregon Star Party.  (These images were taken when 278 was near the horizon).
