Pegasus II Cluster

(Home)

The Pegasus II Cluster is a cluster of galaxies found in Pegasus (The Winged Horse). The largest and brightest galaxy is NGC 7720 at a magnitude of 13.6 and size of 1.6' by 1.3'. Some of the galaxies are labled ??? as they are unknown to my catalogs. They are clearly galaxies since they are lenticular and fuzzy when compared to the field stars.

This shot was taken at f/6.3 with the 12" LX200, AO7, and ST-8E CCD at the Oregon Star party on August 9, 2002. It is a composite of 15 five minute exposures totaling 75 minutes binned 2x2.
