Discovered March 2nd, this new type IIn supernova is outshining its parent galaxy. NGC 3877 (the parent galaxy) is in constellation Ursa Major, and has a magnitude 12 and size 5.4 by 1.2 arc-minutes.
A
composite of three 1 minute exposures and three 30 second
exposures taken with the 416 at f/3.3 in my driveway on March 29.
4 darks of each duration were averaged and subtracted from each
exposure before compositing.
